Spotify recently confirmed that paying to have your music added to a playlist is against their terms and conditions, and amounts to streaming manipulation. The article states:

….. you cannot pay to get on an official Spotify playlist. If someone or a third party company is offering placement on a playlist in exchange for money, this is a streaming manipulation service that goes against Spotify’s guidelines for music promotion. The following is not permitted for any reason whatsoever: Selling a user account or playlist, or otherwise accepting or offering to accept any compensation, financial or otherwise, to influence the name of an account or playlist or the content included on an account or playlist. Additionally we routinely remove user-generated playlists that claim to offer this, so it won’t benefit you in the long run.

How easy is it to buy fake Spotify plays and followers?

As the title says, how easy is it to buy fake Spotify plays and followers? It is really easy. You can also buy a place in a playlist for your track. We aren’t going to link to any of these dubious services but finding them is as easy as typing “buy Spotify plays” into your favorite search engine. Obviously these are going to be fake plays and followers, even though the people selling them will insist they are real. If you’ve bought plays and followers for Spotify and think they are real, you are pretty stupid.

A List Of Artists In The Pro Music Rights Catalog.

As previously mentioned, the Pro Music Rights website is not very clear about who the artists are in its catalog of over 2 million copyrighted songs, most of which don’t appear to have been recorded yet. Pro Music Rights claim to be the third biggest PRO in the USA, but they really should take a leaf out of Global Music Rights’ book in terms of presenting their client list on their website. Global Music Rights is the smallest PRO in the USA, and they deal with a lot of older artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, Bob Seger and Glenn Frey. They do have some younger clients such as Drake, Bruno Mars and Pharrell Williams, but nowhere near the quantity of young guns represented by Pro Music Rights.

We say unfortunate because any internet search for the name Abubakr Hill immediately brings up articles from thehill.com on the leader of the so-called Islamic State, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. This means we have not been able to find any examples of his work apart from on the Pro Music Rights website, which lists ten songs written for him by the 20-year-old founder and CEO Jake P. Noch. These include such titles as “Dear And Rhymes”, “Dear And Vibes”, “There Goes My Money” and “There Goes That Money”.
